Wireless TV headphones are one of the most popular items in electronics these days. What makes them so popular? The typical American watches over two hours of television everyday. This usually poses no problems in the living room but it presents an issue in the bedroom when one spouse wants to sleep. Or if someone is trying to read a book in the same room as the TV. A TV headphone allows someone to enjoy the television without distracting or disturbing others.

There are a number of things to consider when purchasing one. Some headphones have a wireless transmission but also have an electrical plug. This is nice because you do not have to keep buying batteries. If the headphones are run by batteries, be sure to see how long the battery life is. Some of the cheaper models are not very efficient and thus investing in a high quality one might save you money in the long run.

Do note that if something comes in between the listener and the television the transmission will be disruption. So those with energetic kids might not get the full value for their money. Even though there are a number of online retailers that sell them it would be a good idea to try them out in the store so you can see how comfortable they are on your head.
